Xiao DìDì, this is how we could call this mini version of the Chinese Classic Bench. Often found by pair, these benches were indeed placed on either side of a main entrance. Sometimes called Spring benches or Lovers Benches, they keep the same pattern as the classic ones; four free nails joints widening legs, most of the time, square shaped, supporting a rectangular top. Their colour could vary from light wood to chestnut. Available in several variations with spandrels, clouds motifs or carved grooves on legs.
