On the east coast of China, with the Bohai Sea to the North and the Yellow Sea to the South, sits the province of Shandong. This is where these old iron lamps are coming from. Welded and hammered from solid iron, these lamps have been used in China for centuries to lighten the family homes and temples across China and Mongolia. Sitting alone on the side of a console table or combined with other objects, they will bring an interesting contrasted texture. Their brut aspect is a perfect match in wabisabi or very contemporary décor, placed on concrete or marble working table in a kitchen. For an outdoor usage, we do recommend to apply a special treatment to prevent them of getting rusty.
